In Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, Team Natsu and other Fairy Tail guild members work together on a mission that has been unfinished for over a century. The official Fairy Tail sequel story shows Natsu's guild tasked with sealing away renegade dragons known as the Five Dragon Gods for fear of them causing worldwide destruction. The series introduces new characters and expands the franchise's lore in exciting new ways.

The main antagonists of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest are the Five Dragon Gods that the guild is tasked with stopping -- and this includes the powerful dragon Ignia. The Fire Dragon God Lives on Fairy Tail's Guiltina Continent

Ignia is the Fire Dragon God, one of the Five Dragon Gods that Natsu and the rest of Fairy Tail go off on a quest to seal away during the plot of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. Ignia inhabits the continent of Guiltina, the northern continent of Earth in the series.

Ignia is also over 400 years old, having existed during the Dragon King Festival before escaping to Guiltina. He is known as The Flame of Destruction, a testament to his raw power, proving that even the strongest members of the Fairy Tail Guild will have to work carefully to seal him away on their quest.

Ignia was teased in the first episode of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, but actually appeared later in the 6th episode of the series. The character is voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto, with Alejandro Saab providing the voice for Ignia in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest's English dub.

The Character's Personality is Befitting an Evil Villain

As one of the Five Dragon Gods, Ignia has two different forms in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. While in human form, he is a toned and muscular man with dark orange hair that is styled upwards in a fiery motion away from his face. He has black tattoos that run across his chest and body, including symbols of the sun and flames. When in his dragon form, he grows to an incredible size and has large, bat-like wings and sharp fangs and claws.

Ignia is one of the oldest characters in Fairy Tail, and his long life has made him arrogant and condescending. Ignia believes he is superior to everyone around him, and enjoys proving his strength in combat. At times, he has shown himself to be sadistic and violent. He doesn't think twice about threatening the lives of others, including Fairy Tail Mages, and he happily does so just to get a rise out of Natsu.

The Power of the Five Dragon Gods

Fairy Tail's Most Powerful Dragons Are Feared as All-Powerful Gods

The cast of Fairy Tail expanded in the 100 Years Quest sequel, with the Five Dragon Gods playing an important role in the new story. The group was originally six of the most powerful Dragons in the world, with only five remaining after the death of the Dragon God Dogramag. Each of the Five Dragon Gods is said to rival the power of Acnologia, the Dragon King and overarching antagonist of the main Fairy Tail series.

Besides Ignia, the other Five Dragon Gods include Aldoron, Mercphobia, Selene and Viernes. The Dragons struck fear into Fairy Tail's human population with their evil deeds, earning themselves the title of gods as humanity feared their retribution. The Five Dragon Gods eventually fled to Guiltina to escape Acnologia, though it was later revealed that their powers ended up surpassing the Dragon King's.

Ignia eventually learned of Acnologia's death at the hands of Natsu and the other Dragon Slayers. Knowing that Natsu was able to beat such a powerful character, Ignia now wants nothing more than to challenge Natsu in a fight to the death to prove that he is truly the strongest.

Ignia Has a Family Connection to Natsu

The Fire Dragon God is Igneel's Biological Son

Despite Ignia wanting to prove his strength in a battle to the death against Natsu, the characters actually have important ties to one another. Ignia is the biological son of the Fire Dragon King Igneel, who was the foster father of Natsu in the complete timeline of Fairy Tail.

Igneel was always shown to be a loving and caring father figure for Natsu before he met his untimely death. Igneel taught Natsu his signature Fire Dragon Slayer Magic and would later seal his soul inside his foster child's body to prevent Natsu from turning into a dragon like Acnologia. It was obvious that Igneel thought very highly of Natsu, but his relationship with his biological son may not have been as peaceful.

Details regarding Igneel and Ignia's relationship are scarce, but Igneel and Ignia seem to have a few traits in common. During his time with Natsu, Igneel was often arrogant, rash and even violent -- referring to himself as "the one and only Igneel". These traits were likely passed on to Ignia, and Natsu and Igneel's close relationship may also be one of the reasons Ignia despises Natsu.

His Fire and Flame Guild is Not Recognized by the Magic Council

Ignia is one of the most powerful villains in 100 Years Quest, and he has founded a guild of his "disciples" in order to further grow his power. Ignia is the Guild Master of the Fire and Flame guild, with other members including the mages Wed, Ennie Signario, Luso Signario, Lecka, Brian, Raj and Misfortune. The guild is known for its heinous acts of destruction.

Because of its numerous illegal activities, the Fire and Flame guild is considered a Dark Guild in the land of Fairy Tail. These guilds are not officially recognized by the Magic Council and are treated as criminal organizations. Guilds like Fire and Flame typically look down upon the legally-abiding guilds like Fairy Tail and believe that the Magic Council's rules place too many limits on their full potential.

Ignia Utilizes Powerful Fire Dragon Magic

The Fire Dragon King Has Powers Similar to Natsu and Igneel

There are many forms of powerful magic in Fairy Tail, and Ignia utilizes the Fire Dragon Slayer Magic similar to both his father and Natsu. Ignia's powers are shown to be even stronger than his father, which is indicative of his status as one of the legendary Five Dragon Gods.

Ignia's signature move is the Fire Dragon's Roar, wherein he quickly gathers and releases a large amount of flames from his mouth, blasting his target with precision. He has also been shown to use the Fire Dragon Slayer Magic to create flaming rain and to engulf his fists in flames, allowing his punches to hit even harder.

Ignia also is able to use the rare transformation magic like his other Dragon God allies. He also possesses immense strength and durability, which can be seen when he fights Natsu in combat. Perhaps one of his most underrated powers is his ability to go undetected by Fairy Tail's Dragon Slayers; Ignia leaves behind no scent, making it much harder for the Dragon Slayers to track or detect when he is around them. With so much power at his fingertips, Ignia is shaping up to be Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest's biggest villain, and he certainly will give Natsu and the rest of the Fairy Tail Guild an epic fight as they try to seal him away to prevent the destruction of their world.
